i.e. higher efficiency is increasing in hot air filter media for reduction of the overall process costs and meeting the emission level norms.
This paper provides a detailed study on an innovative filter media for hot gas filtration. Fundamental aspects of filtration at higher temperatures with hydrolysis resistance are described first, including the influence of the temperature, acid and alkali on filtration media. The main focus is on the review of hot gas filter media for asphalt and Ferrous Alloy Application. This innovative filter media is comprised of special blended synthetic fibers, singed and calendared delivers superior performance due to excellent acid, alkali and hydrolysis resistance over other filtration media. The media is suitable for mid temperature range applications like F&B boilers and ferrous alloys with thermal shrinkage less than 1% at 180 degrees for 1 Hr. This new media delivers high permeability and lower mean pore size due to hybrid technology results in better efficiency and less energy consumption. This paper also covers the comparative study of physical, chemical and performance properties of the new media and 100% PET and 100% M-Aramid material as per VDI 3926.
