The Healthy Building of Tomorrow: Leveraging Smart Buildings to Realize Decarbonization and Occupant Health Goals

Buildings account for 40% of global CO2 emissions. We spend 90% of our time indoors. What do these two facts have in common? As leaders in the commercial building industry, we have a responsibility to design, construct, and operate buildings in way that optimizes for the health of the planet AND for the health of occupants.

Enter smart building technology. Thanks to rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and our understanding of how indoor environments impact the health, wellness, and productivity of occupants, smart buildings are a necessary component of any sustainability strategy.

In this session we’ll explore our current understanding of healthy buildings and unpack the value and application of smart buildings in a way that will be beneficial for engineers, architects, and building operations professionals alike.
